BodyRockTV for fit fat people
BodyRockTV has been a god-send for someone like me who is out-of-shape, always been chunky, and hates to exercise. They stress high intensity interval training that is short, intense, and gets you back in shape fast.
I had been working out to DVDs and trying different things when I happened upon their website a year ago in the summer of 2010. I don’t really count that I started until October of 2010 because it took me that long to just be able to do a couple of rounds. Even after working out for a couple of years I was still that out of shape!
So here’s some background. Zuzana and Freddy, the founders of BodyRockTV were a couple. Married, I think. A couple of months ago they broke up apparently and went their separate ways. So sad!
I don’t know any details and I wish them both well but it is just so sad. I thought they were a great couple.
Now there is BodyRockTV run by Freddy, Lisa-Marie, and Sean
Zuzana has branched off on YouTube at ZuzkaLight and Facebook, and Twitter.
I like them all and you’ll want to like them all as well to keep up with the different workouts. They have different styles, but Zuzana still has an incredible personality that never made me feel intimidated when I was first starting out and had no confidence. So, she will always have a special place.
On BodyRockTV they’ve removed all of Zuzana’s old workouts. I’m obsessive and when I knew this was something I was going to stick with, I went through and copied down ALL of the archived workouts. I’m working on my 5th page of workouts that I’ve saved.
They offer it with equipment, without equipment, you can buy them a cup of coffee but essentially everything is FREE! Can’t beat that with a stick.
So what I’m offering is NOT a substitute for these great websites. I’m just chronicling what I’m doing because I have to modify. I’m fat, but with modifications I can do this workout. So can you! There is no excuse for not getting off your bum and giving up 15 minutes of your day to exercise hard.
Even with modifications you should be out of breath and sweating in just 12 minutes. If you’re not, you’re not pushing yourself hard enough.
I do the workouts 4 days a week so you’ll see them first thing in the morning Mon.-Thurs. I take three days of active rest because I’m older and it’s the most I can do without hurting myself. >.> I’m clutsy as well. Just go for a short walk where you would normally drive. Keep it simple. I have Your Shape 2012 and use that as well. Also some bellydance videos. Anything that gets you moving.
I’m Sexy and I know It Workout
MOUNTAIN CLIMBERS-I can do these, no modifications.
REVERSE PUSH UP-I have the dip station and can do this, no mods.
ELBOW PLANK-I can do this, no mods.
REPTILE PUSH UPS-I can’t do this. My mod is to just do the reptile part which is bring my knee out to the side and try to touch my elbow. I start out on my feet in a regular push up stance and then drop to my knees if it gets to be too much on my wrists.
I use a free on-line Tabata timer – http://www.beach-fitness.com/tabata/
I click Tabata This then adjust the times to 2 total tabatas, 8 rounds, 30 seconds on, 10 seconds off, for a total of 11:40 workout. During the 60 second break I jog. I do a quick warmup and cool down every time. By changing the times you can make the workout easier or harder.
If you don’t know what these exercises are they have LOTS of videos and this book is a really good resource -
The rest of my posts won’t be this long or complicated but I wanted to do a big explanation with all the resources since I’m just starting this series.

Thank you Coral! I relate and this year I’m trying harder to incorporate exercise (swim class three times a week) — I’ll check these other workouts
Cool! They even have BodyRockTV gear. ^.^
I absolutely LOVEd BRtv until they broke up. I didn’t know that they took down Z’s workouts
Oh, that stinks! I thought it was going to be an amicable split, but I guess not. I’m not going back to BRtv anymore. I’m STRICTLY Zuzka’s tribe now. Since there’s such a long stint between her ZWOD’s now, I’m infusing my own HIIT’s until she back in full force to inspire. Thanks for sharing what you are doing!
I know!
I’ve been watching her ZWOD’s and they look really good. I even like how the video is set up on this last one with all the moves separated out and shown individually. I have to change up the exercises anyways so pretty much my workouts don’t look like theirs. Especially BRtv because they’ve gotten pretty intense.
And done! This workout looks deceptively easy. It’s a lot on the shoulders, wrists, but felt it in my core as well.
All of the archive is still on the BR site, everything’s there, all the older workouts, I don’t know why you think they removed them.
My bad. Someone on Facebook said they’d been removed and asked them to be put back. I have to modify them anyway, but that’s changing. I’m doing exercises now I couldn’t do six months ago.
