Making it free on Amazon update…
This morning at midnight, Amador Lockdown went free on Amazon. Because I didn’t plan it right (I guess I am a pantser), I didn’t go on sale yesterday at the official end of the blog tour, but what the heck. I needed to try out my KDP select stuff.
I had a few comments on the blog where you can pick up a couple of extra books for free, but I didn’t think anything of it.
After puttering around on the computer this morning, I thought I’d check my sales and BINGO! 146 copies out dah door!
When I picked myself up off the floor, I realized that the ‘sales’ had changed my ranking so I looked it up and before my computer had a hissy fit I was 1700+ on the overall Kindle free list and top ten in the two categories. By the time I got my computer to work again my ranking had changed to this -
Rank on Amazon changes hourly, so these numbers will bounce around even more as the weekend goes. I posted it on Facebook in a couple of places and of course tweeted.
Anyhoo, since I didn’t expect to get maybe A COUPLE of ‘sales’ this is big news for me.
I hope to put my remaining days to good use around the March winwithebooks event. I’ll give you another update on Monday.

Update since just posting this – I’m up to 198 and I forgot that I needed to check the other countries and sure enough my first ‘sales’ in the UK were 17, 7 in Germany, nothing in the other countries… O.O wow!
Congratulations! I think the Kindle free is an awesome way to pick up new readers. I use it all the time.
This was my first time but not my last.
Nice! I hope you pick up lots of readers.
Thanks!
Congrats! That’s great news!
Thanks! Can’t wait to report back on what happens after this weekend…
